SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Woodmen Heights Middle School Coordinator will be responsible for the preparation, leading, and follow-up of middle school weekend services at the Woodmen Heights (WH) Campus of Woodmen Valley Chapel (WVC). This will primarily include being the lead teacher at WH, executing the weekend program, coordinating with personnel at the Rockrimmon (RR) Campus, and coordinating with Ministry Partners. This individual will be flexible and have strong interpersonal communication skills, Bible knowledge, and interpersonal leadership ability. This full-time position reports to the Director of Middle School Ministries.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Leads the weekend service for middle school students at WH (teaches large group, directs activities and encourages interaction between students)
*Researches and implements new creative ideas into weekend services
*Oversees logistical areas of service production (development, order, and run-sheet)
*Functions as a key member of the Service Programming/Design Team (service themes, elements, implementation, planning sessions), meeting with team weekly
*Assists in developing promotional material for upcoming events
*Carefully examines Switch programming to identify gaps and potential solutions
*Recruits, develops, and assigns new Ministry Partners into the ministry
*Regularly meets with Ministry Partners for relationship building and encouragement
*Assists in the development, training and support of Ministry Partners
*Weekly leads a growth track group at a host home
*Regularly visits middle school campuses to get to know students
*Works with WVC staff, students, parents and Ministry Partners to create cohesion within the Student Ministries Department and programs
*Attends weekend services at WH to touch base and be a “face” for Switch Ministries during main services
*Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:
1.Experience
*Demonstrates an ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ through regular prayer, personal Bible study and worship attendance
*Proven ability teaching students, preferably those in middle school
*Experience working in a ministry setting
*Ability to work closely with others as part of a team
*Strong organizational skills
*Able to think creatively in a fast-paced environment
*Ability to lead both teens and adults; skilled at leading small groups of teenagers
*Skill in independently dealing with people and answering questions pertaining to the ministry while maintaining a friendly yet confidential approach
*Proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required; Internet research experience is preferred
*Reliable transportation for commuting between campuses
2Education
*Bachelor’s degree is required; a degree in Biblical Studies or Ministry is desired
