Scope:
Responsible for the organizational oversight and the relational shepherding of the entire area of the care ministry (members, staff, on-calls, care programs) and ensuring the development and maintenance of this area are consistent with the vision of the church.
Areas of Responsibility:
Leadership Development
Communicate to the congregation the vision and mission of care ministries and the need for gifted members to serve
Shepherd existing care teams and actively recruit and train leaders for service on these teams or future teams deemed necessary
Be proactive in discerning the spiritual gifts of members who would be an asset to care ministry teams
Provide logical and accountable structure for care ministry team communication and reporting
Program Leadership
Lead, develop and oversee the following ministries:
Celebrate Recovery
Hospital Visitation
Three Score
Stephen Ministry
Peacemakers
Mercy Fund
On-Call Ministry
Weekly Prayer Ministry
Keep staff informed of and engaged in these programs
Pastoral Leadership
Serve as ministerial point for crisis and short-term pastoral counseling and serve as a point of discernment and referral to care programs as well as from care programs to clinical counseling
Maintain relationships with the Christian counseling community and provide a working referral list for staff use
Minister personally and by all forms of media to the body and the community
Worship Leadership
Educate candidates for baptism (biblical meaning and purpose) and coordinate the baptismal service
Conduct weddings, funerals, baptisms and participate in services as asked by the senior pastor
Staff Leadership
Develop and execute an annual ministry plan and budget to support all areas of ministry
Be connected to a small group of accountability
Participate in staff and key leaders meetings
Participate in church-wide events including worship services, Fall Fun Festival, World Passion Week
